Oracle 11g installation on VMWare Fusion with Ubuntu 7.10 [www.dizwell.com]

A few things I discovered.

The 64 bit server version did not work for me -- the 32 bit desktop version did.

Splitting files onto CDs

split -C 600m 10201_database_linux_x86_64.cpio.gz oracle10_2.cpio.gz.

Splits Oracle onto 600m sized files.

Then you can cat them back together
